What is a full mouth reconstruction?

Full mouth reconstruction is a customized combination of restorative dentistry treatments that is developed for patients depending on their unique oral health needs. The purpose of this treatment plan is to reconstruct a healthy smile by addressing issues that affect the gums and teeth. 

Treatments

A full mouth reconstruction procedures may consist of the following treatments. 

Dental Bridge

A dental bridge is used when multiple adjacent teeth are missing. Attaching to teeth on either side with dental crowns can re-establish a cohesive smile.

Dental Crowns

Crown restorations may be placed to replace a single missing tooth and can strengthen existing teeth. Our same-day crowns, can provide exceptional-aesthetic results.   

Dentures

One or both dental arches can be replaces with dentures. Prosthetics are composed of acrylic teeth for realistic results.

For more durable and long term results of your restoration, dental implants can be anchored. We offer three dental implant procedures.

Dr. Fincher at one of his three locations, Greenwood, MS, Columbus, MS, Oxford, MS can place traditional dental implants during a safe surgical procedure. Patients will be provided with a temporary restoration during the four- to six-month healing period.

All-on-4®

With the All-on-4 procedure, Patients will have the highest quality temporary dentures for the duration of six to nine months until the final appliance can be completed.

At Todd Fincher, DDS, a consultation will be conducted and a comprehensive examination will determine which procedures will be included in your treatment plan. Any existing decay must be treated before any restorative treatments can  be preformed.  

Before receiving any restorative treatments, existing decay will need to be taken care of. Once you and the doctor have determined which restorative treatments you can receive, you can also discuss whether you would like to include any cosmetic procedures, such as teeth whitening or porcelain veneers, for a truly dramatic transformation.

Full Mouth Restoration Recovery

Every patient’s recovery time will differ because of their dental treatment plan and which procedures were chosen. Recovery time, just like treatment time, can range from a few weeks to a few months. Patients that have a treatment plan spread over time will likely be able to recover from each individual procedure between steps. Younger patients, or those with good oral health, will have an easier time recovering from their full mouth restoration.

We understand that comprehensive procedures can be a significant undertaking. Insurance can help with some of the costs. In addition to accepting external financing, a discount plan that patients can utilize with other payment plans, and an extended interest-free option.
